Hi Matt,

Just to let you know, I've been in a good fraction of these RO citation calls, as a co-lead of the FORCE11 work.

Thanks for organizing the RO citation call, Mark. I'm sorry I can't make it this time, but I want to point out there is a related ongoing discussion and concrete work in these areas of research object citation and credit within the Force 11 Software Citation Implementation working group<https://github.com/force11/force11-sciwg>, and particularly through the CodeMeta task force (see issues<https://github.com/force11/force11-sciwg/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+%22codemeta%22> and schema.org alignment outline<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1s2mUS9JjIOq-4-0rZTFNaTO7W9umNF4mCf-uypPwGsQ>). That group has been working on aligning CodeMeta with schema.org<http://schema.org/>, and proposing specific approaches to, e.g., align the CREDIT taxonomy with e.g., ISO Role codes. See for example, this GitHub issue in which a specific proposal for using CREDIT<https://github.com/codemeta/codemeta/issues/240> is being discussed. The vision is to also align with the science-on-schema.org<http://science-on-schema.org/> ESIP cluster's recommendations, and we've discussed merging the CodeMeta work with the Science on Schema.org<http://Schema.org> work.

Sorry I can't make the call, but I will definitely look for outcomes and try to feed them forward into the Force11 CodeMeta task force wherever possible.

Best regards,
Matt

Hi folks,

I hope are safely hunkered, healthy, and connected to those you love.

Meanwhile, we ponder the abstract concept of research artifact citation. I am ill-prepared, but let’s have our call tomorrow.

Basic agenda:

1. Begin to work through the credit use case — how do the CReDIT, ISO and other attribution descriptions apply to the different research artifacts?

2. Determine if and what we do for an ESIP session proposal. Perhaps a community continuation of the above.
