<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">I am currently investigating the research data activities of one of my departments here at UBC. I've compiled a spreadsheet for all members of the department including <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">graduate students, research associates, faculty and postdocs. The spreadsheet includes ORCIDs, research groups, advisors, and so on.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">I've been doing creators.name searching on datacite and all in all it has been both a frustrating and illuminating exercise. The continuum ranges from datasets that do not cite any of the researchers that published
the paper (dataset was uploaded by a lab technician) to all authors who published the journal article are also listed as creators of the dataset. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">ORCIDs have not been particularly useful so far. If any of you know how to search datacite for ORCID ids, please let me know.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
