You are invited to take part in a study on science data management because you are a critical agent as data management is a part of your work. Your participation is <b>completely voluntary</b> and responses will be <b>kept confidential</b>. This research is being conducted by me and my fellow researchers at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.</div><div><br></div><div>Basically, I'm interviewing librarians and information professionals who work with earth science and related data, researchers, students, etc. about their day to day life in the workplace. We would like to know your background and how you ended up in your current position, among other things.<br></div><div><br></div><div>If you choose to participate, you will be sent a consent form that outlines study details and then be asked to participate in an interview. I know your time is valuable but, by taking around 30 minutes to participate in this study, you will inform future data management education for science data. An increased understanding of jobs that contain data management should improve access and use of data to benefit all of society.</div><div><br></div><div>There are not any foreseeable risks greater than those encountered in everyday life involved with participating in this research. A greater understanding of data fitness for use should improve access and use of data to benefit all of society through science and policy.</div><div><br></div><div>You will be asked to describe your job tasks and background. The interviews will be recorded for data analysis online via Zoom and will take place as soon as we schedule an interview. Your responses will be linked by a unique identifier for any analysis; however, all findings will be reported in the aggregate.</div><div><br></div><div>I greatly appreciate your contribution to the study.
