[Esip-sample-curation] Esip-sample-curation Digest, Vol 23, Issue 4

Dear Lesley,

I agree that there should be a permanence to collection of objects you wish
to uniquely and globally identify, so in most cases one would expect that
the IGSN ID is applied to a collection coming from the same collection site
or same campaign, or would be (say) a collection of examples of the same
species of insect. Therefore, it is definitely a bit of a stretch, but in
theory the IGSN ID could be used for a group of samples that you want to
cite. It would not at all be a replacement for the concept being developed
by the Complex Citations WG, but it is a workaround specifically for
samples.

Best wishes,
Rorie
