See summary below.</div><div><br></div><div><b>Journal Guidance Action items</b></div><div>During the meeting we made some good progress with the Journal Guidelines - "<a href="https://docs.google.com/document/d/1JnoWC9IE9r4LIa6mYeCjehuMJ6GARU3LDobpau9waz4/edit?usp=sharing">Physical Samples and Sample Related Data Sharing Guidance for Authors</a>". We will be using the AGU example as our new template. The primary focus will be working on the Journal Guidance doc (above). We will also dedicate time to discussing the outcomes of the upcoming RDA session on using related identifiers to connect samples and data.</div><div><br></div><div>In addition, today we were asked to share a brief introduction on this cluster to the <a href="https://www.tdwg.org/conferences/2021/working-sessions/">TDWG</a> Earth Sciences and Paleobiology Interest Group at the TDWG working sessions next month (registration is free). We have invited them to do the same and provide a brief introduction at our January ESIP meeting session.</div><div><br></div><div><b>Dates for future calls</b></div><div><ul><li>Our next meeting is scheduled for November 23rd at 5pm ET. This is a holiday week in the US. Unless there are any objections, we will keep the scheduled time.</li><li>We are canceling the December meeting</li><li>The ESIP January meeting will take place from the 17th to the 22nd. We have two agenda items for this month. First is discussing submitting a session proposal for the January ESIP meeting. The second topic is continuing effort on our Journal Recommendations (in particular moving over to our new recommended template and discussing next steps).</div><div><br></div><div>We had no objections to the suggestion of moving to the structure used by AGU for Data (<a href="https://data.agu.org/resources/agu-data-software-sharing-guidance" target="_blank">Data and Software Sharing Guidance for Authors Submitting to AGU journals</a>). They have a GitHub repo with a <a href="https://github.com/AGU-Data/agu-data.github.io/blob/master/_resources/agu-data-software-sharing-guidance.md" target="_blank">version</a> of it. Do we have anyone savvy enough to make a GitHub repo where we can fork this and make our own version? If not, I also created a <a href="https://docs.google.com/document/d/1JnoWC9IE9r4LIa6mYeCjehuMJ6GARU3LDobpau9waz4/edit?usp=sharing" target="_blank">Google Doc </a>we can start editing (replacing the data guidelines with our own).
