I can help for this. Some of my experience is in the maritime sector in any case. Please contact me how to coordinate and proceed.

I think she meant to forward this to our whole group.  Anyone want to volunteer?

Hello all,
Thank you for letting me attend your cluster meeting earlier this month!
I am still trying to upgrade my understanding of semantic harmonization and what that concept entails.
If one of you are willing, we think it would be extremely beneficial to have a presentation on the topic at one of our working group calls for the Marine Data Cluster. We would like to walk through a Physical Oceanographic use case from CCHDO.
CCHDO: https://cchdo.ucsd.edu/
A single cruise, I06: https://cchdo.ucsd.edu/cruise/325020190403
Our variable names, which we have started mapping to CF as well as Argo:  https://exchange-format.readthedocs.io/en/latest/parameters.html
This example exercise could be focused at the variable, cruise, dataset, or domain level. In fact, it would be great to understand where the harmonization activity applies across these ideas. For example, does it start at the variable and build upwards, or does the process start with a broader approach at the domain or dataset level?
Clearly, we have a lot of questions! We would love to hear from the experts on this and offer to the Marine Data Cluster an opportunity to ask these questions directly and discuss connections to other existing datasets. This conversation will be helpful towards creating a reference about how these topics can be applied to marine data with specific examples.
If you are interested and willing, let us know if December 9th, 2021 11 am PT/ 2 pm ET might work, or another call next year on any second Thursday at that time.
We have started a GitHub issue on the topic, please feel free to comment there as well https://github.com/ESIPFed/marinedata-vocabulary-guidance/issues/16
Either way, we look forward to learning more about this process and collaborating in the future!
Best,Carolina and MDC Admin
