In the past there was no mechanism for remote participation. It
appears that has changed for this particular event.

In the past, largely at the kindness of USGS who has hosted us, we have
had remote "participation" via webEx etc. for the plenary sessions and
invited remote presentations.
Some may have not heard of this for distribution reasons via the SOCoP
community.

Also, individual workgroups may chose to allow call ins during their
sessions. That is up
to them to make arrangements with interested parties. For example Werner
Kuhn has selectively participated remotely with USGS topics of interest.
But it is hard for remote participants to engage fully since much of the
work in drawn on'
boards or discussed around the table which can be hard to hear.

Again let each WG decide how they want to handle this.If you have been at
previous events and know the procedure it helps to keep working on related
topics.

Subject: Remote access to the 2016 Vocamp being held Tuesday, Nov. 29th
- Dec.1st at UMD

We will shortly be starting the DC VoCamp 2016 workshop. This workshop
will serve as follow-up to previous DC & SOCoP workshops/VoCamps in
which a number of ontology design patterns have been crated, published
and used.

This year's VoCamp will take place at the Center for Geospatial
Information Science of the University of Maryland starting at 9 on
Tuesday, Nov. 29th and conclude early afternoon (around 2 to allow
travel) Dec.1st.

See http://vocamp.org/wiki/GeoVoCampDC2016 [1] for a workshop schedule.

The Tuesday morning plenary session will be broadcast as well as a
Tuesday ( 1:00- 1:30 pm eastern) Remote presentation by Krzysztof
Janowicz (ucsb) "Balancing Storage and Computation in Distributed
Knowledge Graphs" and Thursday morning's (9:15- 9:45 Eastern )
presentation by Grant McKenzie, _"Semantic Signatures for place
differentiation."_

Remote access available
