Hi All  -
Apologies for the cross-post. ESIP is currently accepting applications for
two student opportunities - the 2015 Raskin Scholarship
<http://esipfed.us2.list-manage.com/track/click?u=ca50850794ee72b04765ac93c&id=3bb54ea27d&e=579134d09d>
and
the 2015 ESIP StudentFellows
<http://esipfed.us2.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=ca50850794ee72b04765ac93c&id=0ad6c1fd3c&e=579134d09d>
. Both of these opportunities are a great platform for students and recent
graduates to make connections and work with professionals in their fields.

I'm hoping that you will be able to help me reach students you may know
that would be good candidates. Additional details on both are at the end
of this note as a draft email. Ideas on other channels that I should
pursue to advertise these opportunities would be most welcome too. Happy to
talk more about either opportunity if you have questions or concerns.

Thanks for your help -
Erin

Hello -
I'm writing to share two student/early career opportunities that are
currently available through the Federation of Earth Science Information
Partners (ESIP)
<http://esipfed.us2.list-manage.com/track/click?u=ca50850794ee72b04765ac93c&id=72d19c0071&e=579134d09d>
. For those unfamiliar with ESIP, ESIP is an open networked community that
brings together science, data and information technology practitioners
around Earth science issues.

1. *Raskin Scholarship* - The scholarship is open to a current graduate
student in good standing at an institution affiliated with the ESIP Federation.
To be considered for the scholarship, students must be studying an Earth
science, computer science or closely related discipline and have an
interest in fields related to current technical, scientific or applied
activities of the ESIP Federation.
Applications are due Oct. 1. *For the full details see the

2. *ESIP Student Fellows* - We are currently accepting applications for the
2015ESIP Student Fellows. Graduate students and post-docs selected as ESIP
Student Fellows will be interested in bridging the gap between informatics,
technology and Earth Science and applying research to real-world problems.
This fellowship provides students a chance to work closely with
professionals in an interdisciplinary, cross-sector group on current Earth
Science problems. The students will become engaged in their respective
group as rapporteurs, documenting the work of the group on the
monthly telecons and at the semi-annual meetings (Summer/Winter).
Student Fellows will
receive a stipend of $2000 plus travel expenses to the Summer and Winter
ESIP meetings.
Applications are due Oct. 8. *For full details see the
