Hi all,
I am organizing projects for the Fall 2016 course on “Data Curation” that I
am teaching at the University of Denver, starting this week. This is a
Master’s level course that introduces Library & Information Science
students to key concepts and current practices in the management and
curation of digital research data. The course will cover a number of
topics, including data use, sharing, and reuse, metadata creation, data
publication and citation, open data policy, and long-term preservation.

My interest is in having the students work on projects that involve real
data and/or real data challenges. I am open to a wide range of possible
project topics. Please see the attached list of project abstracts from last
year’s course as examples.

Please let me know if you are interested in hosting a project. These will
be team projects of 3-4 students. The projects will start around Sept 26
and end on Nov 17. Last year, I believe the students had an average of
about 3 meetings with their hosts over the course of the term, with
occasional email contact between.

I am happy to talk about project ideas if you have any questions,

Best,
Matt
