Hi BESSIG!

I would like to bring to your attention a free one day workshop associated with the 2017 AGU Fall Meeting in New Orleans on Identity and Access Management (IAM).

Why care about IAM? Because today’s collaborative science depends on secure, controlled, convenient access to project resources. The need for quality network security has never been more apparent than today, and will only grow in the future. Projects today span individuals, organizations, instruments, services, and geographic locations. The difficulty or ease of a project’s ability to manage its users and their access to resources can significantly impact a project’s success. At the same time, agencies are requiring increasingly greater security measures.

Fortunately, tools are being developed by knowledgable people that address both technical and policy issues for IAM. This workshop is a rare opportunity to learn about those tools from world class experts in the field.

The workshop occurs in New Orleans on Sunday, 12/10, before AGU. Further details are provided below. Please feel free to forward this information.

Best regards,

Anne Wilson
