Hi Erin,

I'm fine thanks and and hope everything is ok on your side.
I'm glad to see new folks come aboard GEOSS and specially regarding Energy
concerns.
Regarding Energy activities I would suggest for newcomers to take a look at
the Version 0 of the GEO 2012-2015 Work plan and specially to the DS-07
"Energy and Geo-Resources Management" topic. I attached this document and
the letter from Jose.
This will refer to existing work plan tasks from the past period where
existing documents can be found here:
http://www.grouponearthobservations.org/cdb/geoss_imp.php
Regarding GEOSS user's activities as a whole, my Colleague Thierry Ranchin
is co-chair of the UIC (User Interface Committee) and also co-leading the
Energy Community of Practice. So he will be the PoC for new potential Energy
related participant.

Regarding interaction between UIC and ADC (Architecture and Data Committee)
for Energy and Environment matters, one can have a look at the two previous
Architecture Implementation Pilots AIP (2 and 3) that we've seted-up in the
past two years.

AIP-2: Facility Planner Scenario:
http://www.ogcnetwork.net/AIP2ERs#energy (Report)
http://www.ogcnetwork.net/pub/ogcnetwork/GEOSS/AIP2/index.html (Video)

AIP-3: Environmental Impacts Assessment of the PV Sector Scenario:
http://www.ogcnetwork.net/pub/ogcnetwork/GEOSS/AIP2/index.html (report)
http://www.ogcnetwork.net/pub/ogcnetwork/GEOSS/AIP3/pages/Demo.html (Video)

Regarding the new call for participation to the phase 4 of AIP to be issued
in the coming days, I attached to this email the Power Point slide I sent to
George for the past ADC meeting in Brazil. It outlines possible actions that
could be covers during this framework.

Regarding this second topic (UIC/ADC/AIP) you could redirect any questions
of your colleagues to me.

Let me know who this group of people are (Universities, Gov. Agencies,
Company,...) are as Thierry and I might also think about how best they could
be integrated in the GEO/GEOSS actions.

Cheers,

Lionel

that is more U.S. centric, they are interested in participating in GEOSS and
I wondered if you could give some pointers to GEOSS/Energy activities, AIP
or otherwise.
