Hi ag+climate & community resilience folks,

1. If you can't see the HTML formatted invitation (below) to attend a
bunch of online events regarding the "1000 Landscapes for 1 Billion People:
Design for Radical Collaboration" program for large(r)-scale resilience /
sustainability thinking and planning, visit:
https://mailchi.mp/ecoagriculture/invitation-to-skoll-world-forum-online-event?e=db8b7aefe4

2. These online events run all week next week (week of March 30), and the
daily schedule is posted at: http://skoll.org/skoll-world-forum/schedule/

3. I believe the audience for these events is pretty generic, so on the
one hand, you won't get lost in jargon, but on the other, information may
not be actionable-level specific. Despite the likely TED-like level of
talks, some possibly interesting science+tech sessions include:
"Addressing COVID-19 with Data For Good" (Monday), "Client Centred Impact
Thru Client Driven Data" (Wednesday), "Looking behind black boxes: Chances
and challenges of AI" (Thursday), "Dam Break: Can Data Break the Logjam
that Keeps Capital from Flowing" (Thursday), "Why Tech Matters" (Thursday).

4. There's a whole bunch of other talks that may be of interest to
individuals depending on where your proclivities lie (conservation,
ecosystem management, poverty reduction, etc etc etc), check out the
schedule for yourselves.

The Skoll World Forum on Social Entrepreneurship convenes yearly to
accelerate entrepreneurial solutions to the world’s most pressing problems.
The Forum unites social entrepreneurs with essential partners in a
collaborative pursuit of learning, leverage, and large-scale social change.
This year´s Skoll World Forum will take place online, offering everyone,
anywhere in the world, the chance to participate in sessions.

It is now or never to reach the Sustainable Development Goals. A powerful
way is to focus on ‘landscapes’ - regions whose natural resources, and the
people who depend on and manage those resources, are inter-linked, with
their own distinct ecology, history, economy and culture.

People in landscapes worldwide need to form and sustain local partnerships
to pursue integrated strategies for food, water, and health security;
sustainable livelihoods; biodiversity; climate action; and inclusive green
economies. All stakeholders who influence the landscape (which may be a
watershed, a jurisdiction, a biosphere, etc), including farmers, local and
indigenous communities, NGOs, governments and businesses, must align
towards a sustainable future.

‘1000 Landscapes for 1 Billion People’ is a new global collaborative to
unlock the potential of these partnerships and scale their impact, through:

   - A digital landscape management platform and integrated tools to
   organize landscape action.
   - Innovations in finance for landscape-regenerating investments that
   meet local goals
   - Building local capacities for landscape management.

1000 Landscapes will put locally-led landscape initiatives in the drivers’
seat, while connecting them with potential allies and investors.

Join Sara J. Scherr, President/CEO, EcoAgriculture Partners and Jim
Fruchterman, Director, Tech Matters (Skoll Fellow) to learn more about
integrated landscape management and 1000 Landscapes and contribute your
design ideas.
