Just another reminder that registration is ongoing for the ESIP Federation
during its Summer Meeting, July 7-10 on the campus of UC Santa Barbara. The
ESIP Federation Meeting Visioneers have coordinated an excellent program
focused on Stewardship. Early registration continues through May 29 and is
available by clicking here
<http://www.regonline.com/Checkin.asp?EventId=702639> . Meeting details are
on the ESIP Federation website (www.esipfed.org/events), with evolving
agenda information on the ESIP Federation's meeting wiki
(http://wiki.esipfed.org/index.php/July_7-10%2C_2009%2C_ESIP_Federation_Meet
ing%2C_Santa_Barbara%2C_CA)

Housing options include dorm and hotel possibilities. Both lodging options
have early deadlines (May 22 and 29 respectively) so please reserve early.
Dorm rooms are reserved when you register for the meeting but the single
rooms have sold out and only double rooms ($191.40) are available. However,
booking a double room for single use is possible ($382.80), which is still
less than staying in a hotel. The dorm cost is inclusive of 4 nights'
lodging and cannot be prorated.

As always, ESIP Federation meetings are participatory. Many ideas are
floating around and we're encouraging all to put their topics onto the wiki.
We continue to seek your input into the meeting agenda, with opportunities
for you to offer ideas below.

*	Offer a poster during the day-long poster session on July 8.
*	Propose your own Open Meeting Day session for July 9 (Call
<http://wiki.esipfed.org/images/e/ef/Call_for_Sessions_Summer2009.pdf> for
Sessions; Session <http://wiki.esipfed.org/index.php/Open_Meeting_Sessions>
Proposal Page). This day is all about what you want to offer to your
colleagues. There are 4 tracks evolving this day - Data Preservation, Air
Quality and Education Workshops and a separate track for anything technical
that cannot be accommodated in the workshops on July 7. There are still a
number of sessions available for the open meeting day. Use it to revive
some past working groups such as the Carbon or Water Clusters.
*	Think about your FUNding Friday project idea. If you missed last
year's inaugural mini-grant competition, you will not be disappointed in the
excellent project ideas that are offered up. (FUNding Friday
<http://wiki.esipfed.org/index.php/FUNding_Friday> information)
*	New this year is a student FUNding Friday mini-grant competition.
Check out the guidelines on the Student
<http://wiki.esipfed.org/index.php/STUDENT_COMPETITION> Competition wiki
page.

I look forward to seeing you in Santa Barbara.
