Just another reminder that the registration for the summer meeting, July
7-10 on the campus of UC Santa Barbara is ongoing. We are now up to 90 registrants and it promises to be an exciting meeting. The ESIP Federation Meeting
Visioneers have coordinated an excellent program focused on Stewardship. Registration is available by clicking here.
Meeting details are on the ESIP Federation website (www.esipfed.org/events), with evolving
agenda information on the ESIP Federation's meeting wiki (http://wiki.esipfed.org/index.php/July_7-10%2C_2009%2C_ESIP_Federation_Meeting%2C_Santa_Barbara%2C_CA)

								Early
registration continues through May 29 and that deadline is fast approaching. Housing options include dorm and
hotel possibilities. NOTE:both lodging options have deadlines of May 29th so please reserve early. Dorm rooms are reserved when you
register for the meeting and are available as single ($268.52) or double rooms
($191.40). Single rooms are now closed but booking a double room for single use
is possible ($382.80) and is still less than staying in a hotel. The dorm
cost is inclusive of 4 nights' lodging and cannot be prorated. The Upham House option for hotel is now closed.

						As
always, ESIP Federation meetings are participatory. Many ideas are
floating around and we're encouraging all to put their topics onto the
wiki. There is still time to propose some open meetings but highlights include:

There is a full slate of technical workshops and tech showcase.

								Offer
a poster during the day-long poster session on July 8.

There is a separate set of Teacher Workshops running July
8 and 9. We hope all of the membership will make them feel welcome as they will be there for the plenary speakers.

Think about your FUNding Friday project idea. If
you missed last year's inaugural mini-grant competition, you will
not be disappointed in the excellent project ideas that are offered up. (FUNding Friday
     information)

New this year is a student mini-grant
competition. Check out the guidelines on the Student
     Competition wiki page.

				I
look forward to seeing you in Santa
  Barbara.
