I'd like to share with you that the Pacific Disaster Center (PDC) has
recently released an iPhone/iPad app that tracks multiple hazards
including hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanoes. Other
hazards (e.g., wildfires, floods) are in the process of being added.
The app, "PDC World Disaster Alerts," is free and can be found on the
iPhone App Store by searching for: Pacific Disaster Center or Disaster

A link to a story on PDC's web page contains some additional background
information and can be accessed at:

Later this fall a related app will be released that interfaces with
PDC's web-based "DisasterAWARE" disaster management decision support
system. Users will need to establish a DisasterAWARE account and will
then be able to post information from remote locations (e.g., upload a
photo from a disaster site, etc.) Additional information on PDC's
DisasterAWARE can be requested by e-mailing to disaster at pdc.org.
