Hi All -

The ESIP Summer Meeting<http://wiki.esipfed.org/index.php/Summer_2011_Meeting>,
July 12-15, 2011, in Santa Fe, New Mexico is coming together. I thought
instead of sending a long e-mail, I would create a 'meeting commercial' with
the details <http://vimeo.com/22579614>. If you would rather skip the video
or would like to share meeting information with other lists, I have included
the detailed note below.

** ESIP Summer Meeting - July 12-15, 2011, Santa Fe, New Mexico **

The ESIP Summer
Meeting<http://wiki.esipfed.org/index.php/Summer_2011_Meeting>will be
held July 12-15, 2011 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The meeting will be
centered on the broad theme of data and information quality. This theme is
being incorporated into three plenary talks and several breakout sessions.
There will also be technical workshops on a variety of topics and dedicated
space set aside for emergent topics that come up during any point in the
meeting.

is
open now and the early bird rate ($395/$495) for members and non-members
will be available through June 1. Meeting activities will primarily be at Hotel
La Fonda <http://www.lafondasantafe.com/> with additional meeting space
available at The Inn and Spa at Lorreto <http://www.innatloretto.com/>. A
small block of hotel rooms have been reserved at both hotels with special
group rate of $100/night. This rate is available until rooms are full or
June 13. To get the group room

call either hotel.

A few other meeting notes:

   - Virtual participation will be available through WebEx
   - The meeting starts Tuesday afternoon with technical workshops and runs
   through the end of the day Friday.
   - Tuesday night - ESIP pub crawl scavenger hunt, where the clues are tweeted
   #ESIPFed <https://twitter.com/#!/saved-search/%23ESIPFed>
   - Wednesday - poster session and reception
   - Thursday - The first IgniteESIP <http://ignite.oreilly.com/> - 20
   slides x 15 sec each = 5 min talk on your idea. If you are brave and want to
   try this format, let me know.
   - Friday - Committee business, FUNding Friday, Field trip to Valles
   Caldera National Park <http://www.vallescaldera.gov/>
