Dear colleagues,
We are convening a session titled "IN14: Earth System Data Records (ESDRs), Uncertainty and Metadata" at the Fall AGU this year, to be held in San Francisco during December 5-9. The abstract below provides the scope of the papers in this session:
"We now have a long history of collecting data from spaceborne instruments and in situ data relevant to modeling long-term phenomena such as global climate change. While measurements may be made from multiple instruments over time, it is essential to build long time series of consistently calibrated, computed and validated data, called ESDRs. Information on uncertainty is essential for users to know utility and limitations of ESDRs. This interdisciplinary session encourages exchange of ideas on ESDR generation and facilitating their use. Of interest in addition to the science of ESDRs are assessing uncertainty and adaptation of metadata standards (e.g. ISO 19115) for representation of uncertainty and other ancillary information."
Please consider submitting an abstract to this session. Please note that the submission site is open now at http://agu-fm11.abstractcentral.com/.
The deadline for submission is 4 August 23:59 EDT, much earlier than in previous years.
Our apologies if you get this note more than once due to use of multiple mailing lists.
Regards,
Conveners:
H. K. "Rama Ramapriyan (NASA Goddard Space Flight Center)
Martha Maiden (NASA HQ)
B. Carol Johnson (National Institute of Standards and Technology)
