Hi All -

The ESIP 2012 Winter
is almost finished. The draft
agenda <http://wiki.esipfed.org/index.php/Winter_2012_Agenda> is available
on the wiki now. Thanks to all of the groups that worked with us to get the
program together earlier. There are still a few spaces for breakout
sessions, if you have last minute ideas. Meeting registration will go live
tomorrow morning, however you can book your hotel

In preparation for the Winter Meeting Business Meeting, ESIP Voting Reps,
heads up on a vote that will be sent out in the next day or so on minor
changes being proposed<http://wiki.esipfed.org/index.php/Fall_2011_Bylaw_Change_Election>to
the ESIP constitution and bylaws.

*New ESIP Awards: *
As part of Federation goals to better recognizing the tremendous effort our
members put forth to forward the overall work this community does, the
Committee <http://wiki.esipfed.org/index.php/Partnership> has created two
new awards:

   1. President's Award <http://esipfed.org/presidents-award> - This award
   is proposed to honor an individual who has made the most significant
   contribution to the Federation in the previous year. This award will be
   given annually at the ESIP Winter Meeting. The awardee receives a plaque.

   2. ESIP of the Year <http://esipfed.org/esip-year-partner-award> - This
   award is to honor an ESIP partner organization that best exemplifies the
   Spirit of ESIP in one or more areas. This award will be given annually at
   the Winter Meeting. The member organization will receive a plaque.

We will be awarding these along with the Martha Maiden Award at the Winter
Meeting. *Nominations are due Dec. 1.*

Call for Nominations for the 2011 NOAA David Johnson
Award<http://www.nesdis.noaa.gov/pdf/11DJaward-web.pdf>- The NOAA
David Johnson Award is presented by the National Space Club at
the annual Dr. Robert J. Goddard memorial Dinner. The award was established
in 1999 to honor the first Administrator of what was to become the NOAA
National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service. The award
recognizes young professionals who have developed an innovative application
of Earth observation satellite data (alone or in combination with
non-satellite data) that is, or could be, used for operational purposes to
assess and/or predict atmospheric, oceanic, or terrestrial conditions. The
satellite data used may be from any Earth observation satellite, e.g., U.S.
government, commercial, or foreign satellites.
