Each year, the ESIP Federation elects a slate of officers, representatives
and committee chairs. It is that time of year when nominations are being
accepted. A few considerations as you determine whether or not holding an
office is for you:

* President, VP, ESIP Type Representatives and the Chairs of the
Constitution & Bylaws, Finance & Appropriations and Partnership Committees
must Voting Representatives to the ESIP Assembly
* The President and VP must represent different ESIP Types
* Standing Committee Chairs do not have to be Voting Representatives
* Officers, Type Representatives and Committee Chairs serve on the ESIP
Federation¹s Executive Committee (monthly telecon commitment)
* Officers, Type Representatives and the Chair of the Finance &
Appropriations Committee serve on the Foundation for Earth Science Board
(meets twice annually in conjunction with the ESIP Federation meetings &
telecons (as needed) throughout the year)

Nominations can be sent to me (carolbmeyer at esipfed.org) and I will post to
the wiki. Each nomination requires a second. The nomination period will run
through December 1, with an electronic ballot being presented during
December. To track progress of the nominations or to see a description of
each office, please visit the wiki
(http://wiki.esipfed.org/index.php/2012_Nominations_and_Ballot). While
recent experience has seen single candidates for each office, we welcome
multiple candidates for each office.

Current officers, reps and chairs are available to answer any questions you
might have about a particular office. Erin and I also are available to
answer questions. Thank you for considering a leadership role in the ESIP
Federation.

Regards,
Carol
