I'm deeply sorry to hear this. I'm also blessed to have known Rob when I was first introduced to the Earth science community over 10 years ago. He has been a great collaborator, friend, and mentor to me. He also helped greatly ever since to advise our students. 

Rob, go well and may peace rest with you for ever. Your passionate for friendship, collaboration, mentorship will be passed on by your students, colleagues and through the future generations.
