*is posted on the wiki<http://wiki.esipfed.org/index.php/Summer_2012_Program>.
The agenda needs community input to minimize the conflicting sessions, so
please take a look. There is also space for a few more sessions. We are
also still looking for presenters in the plenary session, "Innovators Among
Us<https://docs.google.com/a/esipfed.org/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dGJNeWVFc2lKVmFhb0gtNktXZTcwaXc6MQ#gid=0>
".
* Early registration<http://www.regonline.com/Register/Checkin.aspx?EventID=1078265>goes
through May 31 and there is a student, 1-day and virtual participant
rate. The room rate is available through June 15 or when the room block is
full, whichever comes first.

The *ESIP Commons* <http://commons.esipfed.org/>, a publishing platform for
non-traditional items like white papers, lesson plans, posters,... will go
live at the end of April. We are looking for community members interested
in participating on the editorial board. Reviewing content and establishing
publishing procedures for the Commons. For more information on the Commons
see the presentation<http://www.slideshare.net/erinmr/esip-commons-presentation>I
gave at BESSIG in March. Time commitment would be light. If you'd like
to
participate - let me know by Friday.

*ESIP-All Webinar: April 24, 2012 4:00pm - 5:00pm Eastern (The normal
Semantic Web Telecon)<http://wiki.esipfed.org/index.php/Semantic_Web_Telecons>
*
The Global Change Information System, Curt Tilmes, USGCRP NCO

The National Coordination Office (NCO) of the the United States Global
Change Research Program (USGCRP) is coordinating the development of a new
data system to integrate information about global change from across the
federal government. The Global Change Information System (GCIS) will
harmonize the organization and representation of that information from
across the program and integrate existing information from agency data
centers. Early phases of the GCIS development will focus on representing
the provenance of the National Climate Assessment (NCA), but will also look
into existing agency data centers for sources of information to integrate into
the system.

This talk will give a brief overview of the GCIS and its context supporting
the USGCRP and NCA, with a particular focus on potential areas of
collaboration and involvement for the ESIP Federation.

*Telecons <http://esipfed.org/telecons>: * I have added the NASA ESDSWG
meetings and NSF's EarthCube telecons to the* ESIP
calendar<http://esipfed.org/telecons>
*. If you know of other meetings that should be on the calendar let me
know.

Have a good week!

Erin
