Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the following invited speakers for Special Session IN015 entitled Data Interoperability and Inter-Use Solutions at the 2012 Fall American Geophysical Union meeting:

Deborah McGuinnes, Tetherless World Research Constellation, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
Chip Miller, The Carbon in Arctic Reservoirs Vulnerability Experiment (CARVE) Airborne Campaign, NASA-JPL

The session will focus on the resources needed to discover and combine diverse data into a homogeneous set of information that can readily analyzed to enable new scientific discoveries. Please consider submitting an abstract for this Earth and Space Science Informatics session.

AGU 2012 Meeting information is available at http://fallmeeting.agu.org/2012/.

Please note – the deadline for abstracts is 8 August 2012.

Session IN015: : Earth science researchers are benefiting from the increasing amount of satellite, airborne, and in situ sensor data products. However, many challenges remain for discovering and searching for these data across multiple data systems. Even after these challenges are addressed, for interdisciplinary and application users, a remaining challenge is how to effectively integrate multiple data products after they have been found. This session focuses on solutions that enable efficient data interoperability and inter-use across science discipline and application domains. Of particular interest are solutions that address currently underserved user communities.

We look forward to hearing from you and thank your for considering this opportunity to share your research and applications insights. Please forgive us if you receive multiple postings as we are seeking to distribute this announcement broadly to reach as many disciplines as appropriate

Sincerely,

Stephen W Berrick
