Last call for AGU!!
> Hi Everyone,
> please consider contributing an abstract to my AGU education session on citizen science. After a wonderful ESIP meeting, I think there are many of you that are working in this area. We are especially excited about and interested in any mobile technologies as well as other aspects of successful citizen science (and lessons learned)!
> Session Information -- If you do submit an abstract, check the session number as there are other session with similar titles (-:
> This one is co-convened by myself and Sandra Henderson at NEON and Project Budburst:
> ED018: Engaging the Public in Geoscience Research
Invited speakers are from CoCoRaHs, NH Lakes Lay Monitoring Program, NEON, and NatGeo's Fieldscope. You will be in great company, so don't miss this chance!
> This session will focus on best practices and lessons learned from successful citizen science programs that promote greater understanding of geoscience content and protocols through participation. Submissions that address planning, marketing, recruiting, retention, web site design, data entry, data quality control, coordination and management, project evaluation, and final reporting back to participants are encouraged. Abstracts are encouraged that represent the diversity of participants found in citizen science projects including K-12 school groups, informal science centers, individuals, communities, universities, and laboratories. Special consideration will be given to abstracts that utilize mobile technologies to collect and report data.
> hope to see you at AGU!
If anyone for some reason isn't an AGU member and wants to put in an abstract, please let me know ASAP, and I can sponsor you.
