Session Abstract:

New Earth observation instruments are planned to advance Earth science research over the next decade by U.S. and international agencies. Data system capabilities are being planned and implemented that require integration of increasingly diverse data types from multiple sources, concurrent ingest and processing into science products, rapid delivery, data and system interoperability, multiple search and access paths through open interfaces and data stewardship. Challenging the development of these systems is the need to be adaptable to changing user needs such as adding new products, data/product filtering, subsetting, visualization and/or assimilation into models. This session welcomes discussion of new or evolving data system architectures and scalable technologies for increasing data system efficiency and improved user experience. Of particular interest are science data systems and services being built to support new Earth science missions from research, operational and international sources.
