Hi Everyone -

Thank you very much for your warm reception of my new position. I feel very
fortunate to have worked within the ESIP community for the last ten years
and for FES over the last four years, in my role as Information and Virtual
Community Director. I am so excited (thrilled!) about the opportunity to
serve in the role of Executive Director for the Foundation for Earth
Science (FES)!

I feel strongly about the value of this community and the work that we all
do. I applied for this job because I want to grow FES as an
organization to enhance
collaboration and support ESIP to move Earth science interoperability
forward.

I'd like to thank Chuck Hutchinson for his support of ESIP and FES over
many years, quickly stepping into the role as Interim Executive Director
and shepherding the search process. Thanks to Peter Fox, Emily Law and the
ESIP Executive committee for maintaining continuity and driving ESIP
forward this year. Finally, my deepest thanks to the Foundation for Earth
Science Board of Directors for giving me this extraordinary opportunity.

We are in exciting times and I am looking forward to continuing to work
with all of you. Please don't hesitate to reach out if there is anything I
can do.
