Dear colleagues,

We cordially invite you to submit an abstract to session 8285
"Big Data Analytics for Scientific Data " of the Fall AGU meeting to be held 2015 Dec 14-18 in San Francisco. Abstracts are due 2015 Aug 5.

Session Description:
Both Earth and Space scientific research are being challenged by the emergence of big data as more capable instruments and higher resolution models are generating massive, distributed data sets. Traditional approaches to data analysis are requiring a paradigm shift to integrate computational algorithms with traditional science data processing, management and analysis systems. Such systems require careful analysis of the entire scientific data lifecycle from capture to generation, management to analysis of the data, to architect how computational methods can be introduced to scale the entire observing and analysis environment. This session seeks presentations on concepts, architectures, technologies and methodologies in the following areas:

  * Scalable data management and computation
  * Data analytics for massively distributed data
  * Integration and correlation of large data collections
  * Visualization of large data collections
Primary Convener: Emily Law, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, CA, United States

Thank you,
emily, on behalf of Mike, Dan and Padma
