We're kicking off the software quality guidelines activity later next week.
A description of the effort is on the ESIP website:

If you are interested in participating, sign up through the Google Form
<http://goo.gl/forms/iBKO7T2gkx> by April 11 (next Monday). Every
contribution is appreciated and, understanding how busy we all are, the
process is set up to allow you to contribute just to those areas you have
interest or time to contribute to. We'll have a second opportunity to
contribute in May and during the summer meeting in Chapel Hill.

This kind of assessment is going to happen - we have the opportunity to
expand and refine these guidelines to reflect the range of stakeholders,
from science developer to funder and all of us in between, and the values
of this community. Please do take a moment to read the blog and contribute
if you can.
