Innovative Tools and Services to Enable Data Use across Broad User Communities

Session ID#: 13748

Session Description:

Earth science investigation is challenged by the time and effort required to prepare data for analysis and application towards research, monitoring, and decision making across public, private, and academic sectors. Data preparation encompasses the discovery, access, and processing of information from large volumes of data and information. Existing data and information systems support experienced users, but prove difficult for new users unfamiliar with the variety of formats and structures in which data and metadata are stored. To address these concerns, this session assembles presentations demonstrating how to use innovative data services, tools, and approaches to assist broader user communities in both learning and performing discovery, visualization, and analysis of Earth science data. The presented work may include, but is not limited to: data recipes, data search guides, collections of processing and analysis tools, science notebooks, structured document database development, and software tips among developers.
