Dear Colleague,

Please consider submitting an abstract to the following AGU session on knowledge representation frameworks, data models, taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, and ontologies that can be applied in a variety of ways to improve the use and stewardship of scientific data. The fall 2017 AGU Meeting will be held in New Orleans, LA from December 11-15. This session is open for direct submissions due on August 2nd.

IN028:Enabling Interoperability, Interdisciplinary Use, and Stewardship of Scientific Data through Knowledge Representation Frameworks

Session ID#: 23620
Session Description:
Knowledge representation frameworks can be applied in a variety of ways to improve the use and stewardship of scientific data. The application of knowledge representation frameworks can improve capabilities for discovering, exploring, accessing, analyzing, and preserving scientific data. Early in the data lifecycle, such frameworks can contribute to data provenance and improve data stewardship. Later, different frameworks may be applied to metadata and documentation to improve discoverability, interoperability and use across disciplines. Topics of interest for this session include all aspects of knowledge representation frameworks that are applicable to research in the Earth and planetary sciences.
