Dear ESIP Community,

*The Unidata Program Center in Boulder, Colorado is pleased to announce the
opening of registration
<https://www.unidata.ucar.edu/events/2018UsersWorkshop/> and the
availability of limited travel support for the 2018 Unidata Users Workshop,
entitled Reducing Time to Science: Evolving Workflows for Geoscience
Research and Education. The workshop will be held in Boulder, Colorado from
June 25-28, 2018 and will bring together community members, distinguished
speakers, and Unidata staff to raise awareness about current trends in the
academic geoscience community. Over four days together, attendees will
learn about and discuss Data Proximate Analysis, Machine Learning and Data
Analytics, Using GOES-16 Data, and Working with Ensemble NWP Output.
Scientists and educators from the academic geoscience community will
present ideas and techniques for making effective use of geoscience data
and share activities, course materials, and ideas for improving education
and research. There will be hands-on workshops, a poster session, and time
for informal discussions with presenters and Unidata developers. To
encourage participation by students and individuals who identify as members
of groups that are underrepresented in the geosciences, Unidata is offering
travel support to attend the workshop. In addition, Unidata is making a
limited amount of travel support available (on a first-requested,
first-served basis) to faculty who would not otherwise be able to attend.
Applications for travel support must be received no later than May 17,
2018.The full link to registration with information on travel support
