Dear Colleagues,
Apologies for cross-postings! Time flies and abstract deadline is approaching soon. Hope to see you many of you at ESIP summer meeting this week.
We would like to invite you to submit an abstract in our session in Earth and Space Science Informatics session: “Spatial Data Infrastructure for Earth and Space Sciences: “Analyzing, Visualizing, and Sharing Spatio-temporal Cloud Optimized Earth Science Data” at the upcoming American Geophysical Union (AGU) Fall Meeting in Washington DC (December 10-14, 2018). This session is led by me (Sudhir Shrestha-Esri), Manil Maskey (NASA), Robert Wolfe (NASA) and Ken Casey (NOAA).
Abstract Submission Deadline: 1 August 2018, 11:59 P.M. EDT
Session Title: IN032. Spatial Data Infrastructure for Earth and Space Sciences: Analyzing, Visualizing, and Sharing Spatio-temporal Cloud Optimized Earth Science Data
Section/Focus Group: Earth and Space Science Informatics
Please submit your abstract here: https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__agu.confex.com_agu_fm18_prelim.cgi_Session_52855&d=DwIGaQ&c=n6-cguzQvX_tUIrZOS_4Og&r=z_UkiNdaPPnn6f_5YCcwk8pcqAmUKyJq-jppGhCSDi8&m=51omN68p4I359TMaknBdivYl0ZJflPzQxMP_ZZaEsj8&s=WA4i5WhQu2yIFGSs-qEjw5coGj0e2dNwOfWLbBX1Gzk&e=
Session Description:
Scientists and system engineers use geospatial data to manage organizational infrastructure, quantify the need and risk associated, and plan future development. The diversity and complexity of scientific data pose challenges in how it is stored, accessed, managed and shared, visualized, and fused for answering scientific questions. Spatial data infrastructure (SDI) for Earth and Space Sciences is built on frameworks that support Earth Observations such as satellite imagery, climate-weather observations, and forecasts that are service oriented and distributed. Such frameworks allow us to store and manage data, generate science products, develop users’ need based applications. This session seeks presentations describing systems and workflows for spatio-temporal data ingest, archive, storage, and distribution in on-premise or cloud environment. Topics of interest: operational systems and best practices for creating, managing geospatial data, web services, SDI frameworks for processing, analyzing, visualizing temporal, 3D, 4D Earth Science cloud optimized data, raster analytics and sharing geospatial data.
