[ESIP-all] Job opening - Postdoc Fellow researching volcanic eruptions with satellite data in Madison WI

Job Duties: The postdoctoral fellow will have an opportunity to work on one or more National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)-funded projects focused on developing satellite remote sensing and analysis methods for detecting, tracking, characterizing, and forecasting clouds generated by volcanic eruptions. The candidate will be expected to conduct the research in consultation with the principal investigator and other team members.

Requirements: Successful applicants will have completed a Ph.D. in atmospheric science or volcanology or related physical science by the start date, have a strong background in remote sensing, and be highly motivated, creative, and hard-working. Applicants must also have strong scientific programming and technical writing skills. The candidate is also encouraged to explore new project ideas and assist in the development of new research proposals.

Percent Time: 100%
Salary: $55,000
