What a delightful initiative!!!
Reading this make me immediately think of Prof. Peter Fox (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Fox_(professor)). I hope friends and colleagues attending Asheville can speak to the remarkable impact Prof. Fox had on ESIP and to his legacy.
I take my hat off to you for this worthwhile project 😊

Hi ESIP community,

I hope to see many of you next week at the meeting.

Two students and I from the University of Tennessee's College of Communication and Information's Land Grant Films [https://urldefense.us/v3/__http://www.landgrantfilms.org/__;!!PvBDto6Hs4WbVuu7!JgEZVivTrfXW6IIpkGaJ-3OiwI-uBmD6QkJz6JzboUCnqMC7bsy39sLDduPleKEKslhhq89XdRZgGpuJuCeXk-7xTJzjEbhIfmZKgeMS4jDcoQ$ ] are conducting short interviews/oral histories of the variety and multitude of amazing people working in Earth science data.

Last year, one of our 2023 FUNding Friday projects [https://urldefense.us/v3/__https://www.esipfed.org/funding-friday-microfunding-marker-magic/*hope__;Iw!!PvBDto6Hs4WbVuu7!JgEZVivTrfXW6IIpkGaJ-3OiwI-uBmD6QkJz6JzboUCnqMC7bsy39sLDduPleKEKslhhq89XdRZgGpuJuCeXk-7xTJzjEbhIfmZKgeMIR9v3uQ$ ] set out to collect stories of ESIP's 25-year history. The "History of the People of ESIP (HOPE)" is working with a student media team and will be recording interviews at the ESIP Meeting in Asheville. They will take place on the Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of the conference.
