In the almost one year since, I've made good progress on my post-NASA list of to-dos. Among the top of the list is how best to continue the kind of work I'd been doing at NASA in other spaces and via other means.</div><div style="font-size:12.8px" dir="auto"><br></div><div style="font-size:12.8px" dir="auto">It just so happened that, a few months before I left Goddard, Third Act (<a href="https://thirdact.org/" style="text-decoration-line:none;color:rgb(66,133,244)" rel="noreferrer noreferrer" target="_blank">https://thirdact.org/</a>) was founded by Bill McKibben (who also had founded <a href="https://350.org/" style="text-decoration-line:none;color:rgb(66,133,244)" rel="noreferrer noreferrer" target="_blank">https://350.org/</a>). Third Act is a fast-growing community of aging hippies and other third actors (😆), as well as younger generations, currently engaged in two related campaigns: (1) Banking on our Future (<a href="https://thirdact.org/our-work/banking-on-our-future/" style="text-decoration-line:none;color:rgb(66,133,244)" rel="noreferrer noreferrer" target="_blank">https://thirdact.org/our-work/banking-on-our-future/</a>) and (2) Safeguarding our Democracy (<a href="https://thirdact.org/our-work/safeguarding-our-democracy/" style="text-decoration-line:none;color:rgb(66,133,244)" rel="noreferrer noreferrer" target="_blank">https://thirdact.org/our-work/safeguarding-our-democracy/</a>). The current focus of Banking on our Future is the upcoming National Day of Action to Stop Dirty Banks on March 21.</div><div style="font-size:12.8px" dir="auto"><br></div><div style="font-size:12.8px" dir="auto">There are now over 80 such actions around the country, the largest two of which are in NYC and here in Wash., DC.; and more than 50 partner organizations, from Sierra Club to Sunrise Movement. When both <a href="https://www.sierraclub.org/" style="text-decoration-line:none;color:rgb(66,133,244)" rel="noreferrer noreferrer" target="_blank">https://www.sierraclub.org/</a> and <a href="https://www.sunrisemovement.org/" style="text-decoration-line:none;color:rgb(66,133,244)" rel="noreferrer noreferrer" target="_blank">https://www.sunrisemovement.org/</a> are supporting something, that says a lot. The National Day of Action will be peaceful, joyful, and impactful, as we aim to raise the awareness in people's minds of the connection between dirty banks and the climate crisis.</div><div style="font-size:12.8px" dir="auto"><br></div><div style="font-size:12.8px" dir="auto">With more than 80 actions around the country, there's likely to be an action at or near where you live.
