CDF members,
With thanks to Joel for the guidance, we could submit the CDF abstract with both the Council of Data Facilities as an author, and individuals recognized as authors. So here is my guess at appropriate authorship (note that AGU requires the presenting author be listed first). I took the list of names from the attendees at the CDF meeting where this was discussed:
Karen Stocks, Council of Data Facilities, Mike Bobak, Bev Corwin, Melissa Cragin, Chris Crosby, Steve Diggs, Chris Erdmann, Maria Esteva, Corinna Gries, Nick Jarboe, Matt Jones, Matt Mayernik, Allison Mills, Vishu Nandigam, Frank Nitsche, Lisa Raymond, Jim Riley, Lynne Schreiber, Doug Schuster, Martin Seul, Susan Shingledecker, Greg Tucker, Bruce Wilson.
*If you are not listed as an author and would like to be included, please let me know. There were people who contributed to the document writing and this was hard to recreate once I cleaned the comments and suggestions up.
* If you are listed as an author and do not think it is appropriate or prefer not to be named, please let me know.
For the authors, AGU will require that I enter your affiliation if you are not already in the system. So if you do not know for sure that you are in the meeting system, please send me your preferred affiliation.
Abstract is due Aug 2, and I’ll get a draft up for review by Monday.
Thanks,
-Karen

Subject: Q on CDF abstract and AGU sessions in general
Dear CDF members,
We are looking forward to seeing some of you in person this coming week at ESIP; safe travels to those heading out.
The AGU submission deadline is also coming up quickly. I have been asked to submit an abstract on the CDF discussion of authentication and registration captured in this summary document<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YrwHUIBtJEO0Qju4Q8a8BIk7065QGDcJ854u0Zt8-5s/edit> into the session IN003 - Access, Attribution, Identity and Ethics of Publication and Republication of Datasets in the Era of Wide, Open, Science<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/agu.confex.com/agu/fm23/prelim.cgi/Session/190050__;!!Mih3wA!C7Qw-R2y8uhMlE_TiVwoQEVmhSDDMkLS8O4y-KDopDaKOH4olipftdl9ksJNYoPFHjIaDvdX9pGrEFSXheOROzgZBss$>. I was thinking of adding the CDF as a group as a co-author. If you prefer that we develop a list of individuals who have contributed, so all can have recognition, please let me know. My thinking is that it strengthens the CDF to be seen as a body that produces community guidance and through which repositories speak with a common voice, but I also recognize that providing individual credit is important, so I welcome your feedback on which is preferred.
And while we are thinking about AGU there are a couple of sessions specifically aimed at repositories:
IN026 - Expanding and Evolving Collaboration and Innovation in Earth Science Data Repositories<https://agu.confex.com/agu/fm23/prelim.cgi/Session/190999>
IN015 - Applying Community-Developed Principles and Guidance to Improve Open Science Capabilities of Scientific Data Repositories and Service Providers <https://agu.confex.com/agu/fm23/prelim.cgi/Session/184669>
And then quite a few others that may be of interest to repositories. I started to make a list, and then realized it is the majority of the informatics sessions, so instead here is the link to the informatics session list: https://agu.confex.com/agu/fm23/prelim.cgi/Program/3713.
Best,
-Karen
PS The Research Coordination Network for FAIR in ML, AI Readiness, & Reproducibility <https://www.farr-rcn.org> Research Coordination Network (farr-rcn.org) provides some administrative support to the operation of the CDF, so I thought it might be reasonable to give the FARR-related session a call-out: IN009 - Advancing AI with Open Environmental Datasets: Benchmarking Needs, Frameworks, Lessons Learned <https://agu.confex.com/agu/fm23/prelim.cgi/Session/187226>
