Chiming in on a couple items.<br>

Yes, some researchers view some journal articles as proxies for their data sets, esp. data journals and the like.<br>
<br>
Regarding PIDs for instruments, I trust several of you are aware of if not involved with the RDA IG on that topic.<br>

Also the Australasian Identifiers for Instruments Community of Practice (i4iOZ <<a href="https://sites.google.com/ardc.edu.au/i4ioz">https://sites.google.com/ardc.edu.au/i4ioz</a>>) have published a Best Practices document:
