Subject: [Esip-disasters] Poster for Funding Friday proposal planned

We had a very interesting discussion today about end user communities and keywords that might help define relevant data sets…possibly related to the augmented metadata concept. Those who are here in Tucson are welcome to join a team to generate a FUNding Friday poster for the following idea. Meeting is at Gentle Ben’s on University…

Cross-cluster initiative to strategize an approach to identify/organize user communities’ vocabularies as a preliminary step to support data discovery for data-driven decision making. Initially work with a specific community (power restoration due to storm damage) and develop a pilot project to identify keywords (to aid in searching for relevant data sets). Analyze the user community documentation (i.e., examine websites and docs with a natural language assessment tool) to extract a small subset of terms / semantics with high relevance to their operations. Review keywords with community representative for feedback on relevance to their (undocumented) use cases.
