Agree with all that. No formal doc beyond the web page has ever been created.

Maybe esip-documentation could create a DOI? And associated metadata. Would solve all sorts of issues.

Megan et al.,

I would go with “Web Page” and Documentation Cluster, but I am far from an expert. I suspect that if the URL is correct, that is all that is important, but I know that is not right!

Hello All,

Someone asked how best to cite the Attribute Convention for Data Discovery 1-3 (https://wiki.esipfed.org/Attribute_Convention_for_Data_Discovery_1-3<https://urldefense.us/v3/__https:/wiki.esipfed.org/Attribute_Convention_for_Data_Discovery_1-3__;!!PvBDto6Hs4WbVuu7!PN69ZS4y5HbcPglU5I_J_oPcZUrrNDyUiA-5dxN4zNjTST1JoFJfIyqM6fdCovTfr37BHC9wrUVA1qQxVxcTuvrwD7duZ5gvsvlEMV0PGkv9QA$>). Since I know this list includes some of the creators/maintainers, what do you recommend? Does a formal citation exist? Leslie, copied here, asked specifically if it is considered a “Web Page”, an “Electronic Article” or something else? And is the ESIP Documentation Cluster considered the author?

Thanks for any advice,
Megan
