Subject: [surveillance-coalition] NTIA requesting comments on drone privacy
- due April 20
(Apologies for cross-posting.)
FYI, the Feb. 15 presidential memorandum on drones & privacy (
http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2015/02/15/presidential-memorandum-promoting-economic-competitiveness-while-safegua)
directed the National Telecommunications & Information Administration
(NTIA) to initiate a multi-stakeholder process to develop a framework for
privacy, accountability, and transparency for private and commercial (not
law enforcement/intelligence) drone use. As part of that process, the NTIA
just issued a request for comment, enumerating 16 different questions that
it's seeking input on. Comments are due April 20, and at some point the
NTIA is going to convene a public meeting as well.
