Hi,

My apologies if this information is old to this group:

 From serving on the ESIP Partnership committee and reviewing 
applications for membership, I just learned about an interesting and 
relevant site:  http://www.discinnet.org/.

Also, if you're on the BESSIG list you might have seen the flurry around 
iPython Notebook.  (The BESSIG will be having a presentation on it in 
June.)  It also seems relevant as it provides a way to create a package 
containing all kinds of things.  Below I've forwarded Rich Signell's 
experience with it.

I understand that the representation is json.  It could be interesting 
to add a discovery layer on top of a set of notebooks.

The IPython notebook is the coolest thing since the Mosaic web browser.
