Hi everyone,

We heard that some of you tried to participate in our regular call last
month and apologize for not letting everyone know that ESIP took a
summer vacation and all calls were suspended during the month of July
after the meeting. Speaking of which, we had a great session at Copper
Mountain with three presentations and a lively discussion afterwards.
Brian Wee presented on sensor systems at NEON, Janet Fredericks, WHOI,
presented 'Using SWE to Bind MetaData to Observational Data enabling
dynamic data quality assessment' and Don Henshaw spoke about the new
best practices document recently developed by members of the
EnviroSensing Cluster and published here:
http://wiki.esipfed.org/index.php/EnviroSensing_Cluster.

A few new people joined this mailing list as a result of the session and
I would like to welcome everyone.

It is time to start our regular meetings again. The first virtual
meeting will be next week, on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at 4 pm EDT. We
will send out call information shortly before. For this first meeting we
thought a 'meet and greet' would be appropriate and for that we are
seeking volunteers who will introduce themselves and their local sensor
system, existing or planned. If you would be willing to present for a
few minutes (5 - 10 minutes depending on number of interested people)
please reply to us so that we can plan the call.

We are also expected to develop a plan for our cluster for next year and
will discuss that during the August meeting. So, if you any requests of
what this group should provide, accomplish or discuss, please either
participate in the call or e-mail us.

EnviroSensing calls are scheduled for the fourth Tuesday of every month
(except December) from 4:00 -- 5:00 pm ET.

Thanks and talk to you soon
Corinna and Don
