> Hi everyone,
> As you may have seen in the weekly ESIP Update, the EnviroSensing
> Cluster will be changing its regular WebEx meeting time and will now
> be meeting the first Monday of each month at 2:30 ET. Our next
> meeting will be February 1st at 2:30 ET. We will be discussing
> leadership of the EnviroSensing collaboration area, entertaining
> ideas for this next series of WebEx meetings from now through June,
> and we will hear from Janet Fredericks (Woods Hole Oceanographic
> Institution) about her XDOMES (Cross-Domain Observational Metadata
> Environmental Sensing) Network project.
>
> XDOMES was funded by NSF as part of the EarthCube Integrative
> Activities. This project's primary goal is to work with sensor
> manufacturers to encourage them to begin to fully-describe sensors
> using a combination of controlled-vocabularies, OGC-SWE SensorML
> and the Semantic Web. XDOMES will develop the tools that are needed
> to automate content generation and register the content for easy,
> reliable and persistent access. Project personnel are also planning
> to work with stake-holders to define what content is needed to
> provide fully-described sensor metadata and test some of the
> products in their data management systems. They will look to the
> ESIP EnviroSensing community to help in this effort.
>
> I would also like to reiterate that Alison Adams (University of
> Vermont ) is the new ESIP student fellow working with us in the
> EnviroSensing cluster. Welcome Alison!
>
> Please join us on Monday, Feb 1st 2:30 ET! A reminder announcement
