Hi all EnviroSensors!

Save the date! The EnviroSensing Cluster is having their first telecon of
the year this Monday, February 6th, at 9:00am Pacific/12:00pm Eastern. My
name is Matt Bartos and I'll be your student fellow for 2017. Hope to see
you all there!

This year the cluster will be hosting a mix of internal and external
presentations on interesting and relevant topics related to sensor-based
science, as well as maintaining longer-term focus on cluster projects (such
as the Best Practices, XDOMES, and other internally-driven collaborative
goals). We are hoping to see an influx of new members and a whole lot of
connecting/innovating this year! Topics in the presentation slots for this
year include: wireless sensor networks for real-time flood info;
cloud-hosted real-time data services; cross-platform software frameworks
for end-to-end sensor services; architecture for system-diverse research
networks; and multiple-sensor approaches for precipitation phase
discrimination.

If you are new to this email list, we are a diverse workgroup within the
ESIP Federation that meets once a month to share ideas, technology, and
methods related to sensor-based science, and we take on group projects
(such as the Best Practices document) that can lead to innovations and
publications that improve the world of EnviroSensing as a whole. Our calls
last up to 1 hour, and include introductions, external presentations,
internal workgroup discussion, and Q&A time slots. So bring a friend, and
participate!

Don't forget our cluster homepage is here: http://wiki.esipfed.org/index.
