Sensors across northern Vermont, from Sleepers River to Lake Champlain

United States Geological Survey

USGS measures stream turbidity and Fluorescent Dissolved Organic Matter (FDOM) at Sleepers River Research Watershed, where we also partner with University of Vermont (UVM) to measure soil moisture, soil O2, and soil CO2. With UVM and Syracuse we have snow sensors at Sleepers and across the northern Vermont mountains to the Lake Champlain basin, where we partner on multiple sensor projects.

**ESIP RELATED NEWS and DEADLINES**

ESIP Microgrants: The ESIP Lab has a special RFP out to fund machine learning tutorials specifically for hydrology, seismology, and the cryosphere. These are microgrants that will help make ML educational materials more robust and accessible for Earth science researchers and educators. Projects will get $5,000, or $7,000 if they use the Geoweaver platform, and all the projects will be part of a cohort whose work will be included in the NSF’s GeoSMART Curriculum.
