Session Title: Knowledge and Knowledge Graph Induction in Geoscience

Session Description: Data science and machine learning research in Geosciences has traditionally focused on numeric data. Unstructured data, i.e., text-based data, has received limited attention. There is a pressing need for efforts that leverage comprehensive Geoscience corpora, build models that generate new knowledge, and present knowledge in proper data structures that enhance understanding and reliability - such as knowledge bases (KB), knowledge graphs (KG), and ontologies. This session welcomes research in ontology and KG construction, knowledge induction, and the application of natural language processing and text-based Geoscience data tasks related to KBs and KGs.
