We are excited to announce that our next meeting will feature an esteemed guest speaker, Benedikt Barthel, from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Barthel is known for his research in climate science, with a strong focus on improving the accuracy and efficiency of climate simulations. His work aims to address key challenges in modeling, particularly in the context of long-term climate predictions and rare event statistics, which are crucial for understanding the future impacts of climate change.

Barthel's research includes the development of a non-intrusive machine learning framework for debiasing long-time coarse resolution climate simulations and quantifying rare event statistics. This innovative framework enhances our ability to simulate climate systems more accurately, helping us better understand extreme weather patterns and their potential effects on the environment.

In this session, Barthel will be presenting on his latest work, titled "A Non-Intrusive Machine Learning Framework for Debiasing Long-Time Coarse Resolution Climate Simulations and Quantifying Rare Events Statistics".
