Hello DMAC Community,

This month's IOOS DMAC Tech webinar on *Thursday, March 27th at 3pm
Eastern* will
feature guest speaker Filipe Fernandes, Research Software Engineer for
SECOORA/IOOS, for a webinar titled "Introduction to pixi".

We encourage DMAC representatives from the RAs to attend this webinar to
learn more about the functionalities of pixi and how it can help streamline
your workflows. The webinar will be recorded and shared afterward on the DMAC
website <https://ioos.noaa.gov/project/dmac/>.

*Abstract:*
It is dangerous to go alone! Here, take pixi with you. Pixi is a package
manager designed to streamline reproducibility, replicability, and
portability in workflows, supporting both conda and PyPI packages. It
treats everything as a project or environment, avoiding a cluttered
approach like Matlab's or kitchen sink Python environments. It prioritizes
creating isolated, reproducible environments, and workflows. Pixi allows
users to easily add or remove dependencies, automatically updating the
environment and lockfile to ensure the exact same versions are used in
future setups. It provides a flexible configuration through a TOML file,
and Makefile-like functionality via tasks for automation.

*Please note, we have moved our meeting platform to Webex.* Please see the
