<div><div><font size="2"><span>Please join us for this month's <span>Marine</span> Data Cluster call, where we'll look into </span></font>workshopping
ideas for a July ESIP session. The idea is to "let's talk about
backups/testing backups. If we're using similar systems, we can more
easily load each other's backups, so let's survey that" in the broader
topic of data preservation. <br><font size="2"><span><br><b>Agenda:</b></span></font></div><div><br></div><div>We
are cross-walking ODIS, ROR, and Re3data to add Research Data
Management Systems/Software metadata to investigate software system
usage at oceanographic data facilities. We are looking to survey what
systems are being used at different organizations to learn about
holdings, backups, and ease of ingest at a similar data facility. </div><div><br></div><div>As
the saying goes, you are only as good as your last tested backup.
Testing the ability of other repositories to ingest your data backups is
an exercise that should be repeated more often. We will explore
thoughts around automated ingest testing capabilities to allow for
oceanographic data facilities to test their backups on a small scale
without disrupting regular activities at multiple data facilities.<br><br><i><b>We're
inviting everyone to participate with feedback on the session as
proposed and any other ideas people may have for a potential session.</b></i><br><font size="2"><br>We hope you can join us!</font></div><span><div><br></div><div>-<span>Marine</span> Data Cluster</div></span></div>
