"**HELIOS Efforts to Advance Open Scholarship Incentives Reform*."

*Presentation Abstract*: The Higher Education Leadership Initiative for
Open Scholarship (HELIOS) Institutional and Departmental Policy Working
Group is developing strategies for engaging campus leaders in discussions
around aligning hiring, reappointment, tenure, and promotion decisions with
institutional values. HELIOS and Florida International University are
collaborating in January 2024, hosting academic leaders (presidents,
provosts, and vice presidents for research and faculty affairs) at a
workshop to discuss modernizing tenure, promotion, and hiring policies to
explicitly reward open scholarship and public access behaviors.
