My apologies for not forwarding this sooner --

The federation is capturing general input about the cluster activities
and community involvement, and assess interest in possible new
collaboration tools/methods.

If you send me comments about specific things in the attached
questionnaire I'll construct a combined response and forward to Erin.
(Especially Ruth!)

Our next telecon (2/9) coincides with the due date -- We can
(briefly!) walk through it then and capture some quick notes, but if
you have more in depth comments, try to write them up and send to me
directly.

If you consider yourself a member of the cluster (I hope you do if you
are reading this message), try to at least send me a quick email with
an "I'm here!" message if nothing else so we can guage the membership
of the cluster.

Hi Curt and Ruth -

As you may know, in the next few months, ESIP will be re-launching the
ESIPFed.org <http://esipfed.org/> drupal site, working to integrate this
new site with the ESIP wiki
<http://wiki.esipfed.org/index.php/Main_Page> and evaluating web
conferencing software. All of this is to continually support
collaboration throughout the Federation.

Attached is a questionnaire to check in with the Data Stewardship
Cluster about your collaboration experiences. The feedback from all of
the committees, clusters and work groups will help us make targeted
improvements to our tools and methods in ways that are genuinely
effective to the main users, YOU!

One way to do this quickly, would be to put it on your next agenda and
go through it with the group. Otherwise, feel free to fill it out
yourself or pass it out to the list-servs for comments. Please send your
responses to me by February 9, 2011. This check-in is only for our
internal use and will not be shared without your groups explicit
permission.  If you have comments/questions or would like to be more
actively engaged in these changes, please feel free to give me a call or
e-mail.
